Too many bloggers write “thought-provoking” and motivational posts. If you want to help people give them something actionable. Unless you’ve done something great in your life or overcome serious adversity I don’t care to hear you speak about how I can “crush it in 2012″. Sorry. If you want a post to motivate yourself or arrange your thoughts write it about yourself and don’t preach it to anybody else. If anybody else takes a lesson from it great. My big decision article was written for me. I didn’t expect anybody else to read it. I just needed to get it out. Turns out a lot of folks got inspiration from it. I’m glad they did but it wasn’t my intention.
My right hip is a hella lot tighter then my left. It’s creating some issues and I need to get it taken care of. I blame all those years teaching kids hockey when we were forced to always skate in the same direction.

Maybe this is why I can only turn counter clockwise when I skate
It’s easy to get excited by new equipment or workout trends. I get it. Do me a favor and learn the basics first. I don’t care if you like using a TRX for your workouts. Unless your client can perform the basics with adequate form keep it in your back pocket until they’re ready.
Lots of bloggers send me articles trying to get guest articles posted on the Personal Trainer Development Center. I end up repeating the feedback over and over again.
Write for yourself and for your own enjoyment. What you’ve written about has probably been written 1000′s of times by people much smarter and more important than you (sorry to be so harsh). What will make people read your article instead of theirs is to make it personal. Show off your personality and let the reader into your world. Hopefully you don’t scare them off.
I started a YouTube channel and am loving making videos. You should all check it out and subscribe http://www.youtube.com/user/JonGoodmanPTDC . If you don’t subscribe I’ll be sad. I don’t like being sad.
I’m addicted to Busta Rhymes lately, he makes my left foot tap.
The joy in reading is coming to your own assumptions. When you write leave something out and make the reader feel like they came to the conclusion on their own accord (even though you led them to it). Paint enough of a picture for them to make an emotional connection before letting the reader run with it. I learnt this from reading On Writing Well and recommend the book to anybody who aspires to be a writer.
People are loving the new reading list I laid out. Every one of the books has had a termendous positive impact on my personal and professional development. I recommend them all.
My client’s make me happy and act as my inspiration.
If I knew what went into writing and publishing a book I may have never started in the first place. Now that it’s almost done I can’t wait to start on the next one.
This video is amazing. Every trainer should strive to attain the success that Andrew Stewart has. 70 year old great grandmother who benches 188 and deadlift 288

When I first started reading this part, I got the feeling that this was going to be an arrogant post from you. And then I reached one of the best writing tips ever. While I read blogs to receive valuable information, I still go back to those that reveal honest personality more often than others. People like to find themselves in what they read.
Haha, not arrogant at all. That’s the last thing I am. I just want to share the info that I learn with anybody passionate about making a change and helping others. There are more effective ways to get a message out than others.
I’m definitely beginning to learn that lesson. I’m starting to think that, because I spent so much time in that “thought-provoking” mind-state in the past, it was hard to get out and I ended up sounding like a Public Service Announcement. Cheers for the advice.
And Busta Rhymes is awesome. Make sure to tap your right foot to balance out any deficits.
