I’ve been called a hater of motivational quotes. This isn’t true. In fact I gain inspiration from them. In the insanely popular article entitled “Why You’re Failing to Make a Difference” I get deeper into the reason people spread these messages. Unfortunately spreading quotes is big business. I want to make sure I only spread the ones that have had a profound influence on my life.
Enjoy and I hope you gain inspiration and direction from them the same way that I have.
“I will act now. I will act now. I will act now. Henceforth, I will repeat these words each hour, each day, everyday, until the words become as much a habit as my breathing, and the action which follows becomes as instinctive as the blinking of my eyelids.
With these words I can condition my mind to perform every action necessary for my success. I will act now. I will repeat these words again and again and again. I will walk where failures fear to walk. I will work when failures seek rest. I will act now for now is all I have. Tomorrow is the day reserved for the labor of the lazy. I am not lazy.
Tomorrow is the day when the failure will succeed. I am not a failure. I will act now. Success will not wait. If I delay, success will become wed to another and lost to me forever. This is the time. This is the place. I am the person.” – Og Mendino
“Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weakminds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one,he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.” - Thomas Jefferson
“It took me a long time to figure out why I was so happy to be checking my e-mail in the middle of the night. It had to do with passion. Other than sleeping, there was nothing I’d rather have been doing in that moment – because I’m lucky enough to have a job where I get to make change happen. Even though i don’t have many people working for me, I’m in the business of leading people, taking them somewhere we want to go.” - Seth Godin

Love what you do and find purpose in every action
‘Till next time,
-Jon

Great post! I love Seth Godin’s quote! Thank you for sharing!
I live my life by this…
